Accessible Menus

We are proud to announce a new partnership with Café Artysans to introduce accessible menus, ensuring all customers can enjoy an inclusive experience. Working in collaboration with accessibility and inclusion experts Direct Access, menus in Braille and Large Print are now available for customers to use.
This collaboration was spearheaded by Sarah, a visually impaired young person and member of Inspiring Young Voices group, Eye Inspire. It demonstrates how businesses, community organisations and lived experience can come together to create more accessible and welcoming spaces for everyone.

“I wanted to be able to read out menus myself instead of getting someone else to do it for me.” Sarah explained, “I thought of the accessible menu for people like me to make it easier for other people to read menus.”
We hope this partnership will inspire other local businesses to consider how they can make their services more accessible and embrace accessibility in more meaningful ways.
Café Artysans and Calman Trust are delighted to have collaborated with Sarah and the team at Inspiring Young Voices to introduce accessible menus, helping to make our café a more enjoyable place for people with visually impairments. We are committed to making eating out inclusive and accessible and will continue working to ensure everyone in our community feels welcome.
