Highland Cross!

We would love you to join us in celebrating our own Youth Participation Worker, Kirsteen Wood for her absolutely fantastic achievement completing the Highland Cross in June!!

Kirsteen shared: “I completed the Highland Cross for the 6th time on Saturday 22 June 2024 on the 40th Anniversary year. The Highland Cross is a duathlon with two events a 20 mile walk or run and 30 miles on the bike. The route follows the Affric Kintail Way and takes in some beautiful scenery.

The bike is my favourite part as my passion is cycling. I like that local charities benefit from the funds raised and especially since my work, Inspiring Young Voices, have received money. The finish was electric in Beauly with lots of spectators cheering on at the finish in the square.

This year was extra special as I took 49 minutes and 12 secs off from the year before. A friend at the finish said “you looked fresh as a daisy at the end”. I’m already looking forward to the event next year. Thank you to every person that volunteers and business that supports the Highland Cross, it has a great sense of community and I feel privileged to be part of it.”

The Highland Cross supports so many amazing local charities, and we were lucky enough to receive funds for our Angus the Autism Bear project work.

What an absolutely amazing achievement for Kirsteen and everyone involved with the Highland Cross!
